GENERAL INFORMATION

 

· Commune Rosietici, district Floresti.

· Commune Rosietici includes the villages: Rosietici, Rosieticii-Vechi, Cenusa.

· The village Rosietici boarders the villages: Casunca, Rogojeni, Ghindesti, Tira, Domuljeni and Varvareuca. Rosietici has a population of 2473 inhabitants out of whom: 1318 women, 1155 men; 1588 children; 550 pensioners; 980 youth (18 to 35 years old), 526 people are employed.

The ethnic composition is the following: 2432 Moldovans, 12 Russians, 7 Ukrainians, 22 other minorities.

· History of the village: Rosietici is mentioned for the first time on April 9, 1623. It is situated on the right bank of the river Raut, it is the residence village of the commune.   The name of Rosietici comes from the inhabitants of the village Climauti, who used to wear some very broad red waist girdles.  The most important event of the villagers is the building of the church with their support and of many economic agents from the community and abroad.

 

The village Rosieticii-Vechi is mentioned for the first time in documents in 1486, when it was founded. It is situated in the mouth of the river Solonet, an affluent of the river Raut. The former name of the village was Solonet. The villagers take care of the church that functions in the village with very much love.

 

The village Cenusa is situated on the right bank of the river Raut. It is mentioned for the first time on May 11, 1479 under the name of Borodniceni in a document signed by Stefan Voievod. The village has a church dating since 1804. On January 23, 1965 in connection with the new territorial-administrative reform the village Cenusa was renamed into Frunzeni. This name did not last long and the village regained its old name of Cenusa. The most important event of the villagers is the edification of a crucifix and the memorial of the heroes, who participated in the Afghanistan war. A very beautiful village entrance was built in 2005.
